the globalization of obesity

                                          THE GLOBALIZATION OF OBESITY
  •    This text is about obesity risks. About 300 million people around the world are obese and childhood obesity is a growing problem as well.

Some people says that the cause of this problem is the migration of people from rural to urban areas, some because of the number of fast food restaurants, and others found that obesity is not  linked to the fast food restaurants, but to the price of fresh fruits and vegetables. Diseases associated with obesity have also risen worldwide.

  •        There are three different points of view:

-          Migration of people from rural to urban areas has changed diets to include more fast food and less traditional diets.
-          Some analyst associated the United States and its fast food culture with the obesity problem.
-          Rand Corporation study found that obesity is not linked to the number of fast food restaurants, but to the price of fresh produce. Children gain more weight in areas where the price of fresh fruits and vegetables are expensive.

  •       Another bad globalizations are for example the globalization of alcoholism or the smoking globalization.
